Gilbert & Pardue Business Advisors (GaP) welcomes Tanima (Tani) Quazi to the firm as a Senior Associate. She brings over 15 years of professional experience, both in Management Consulting as well as the Biotechnology industry. Her expertise includes environmental engineering, sustainability, health and safety management, and crisis management. Over the course of her career, she has participated in several successful M&A transactions, both on the buy and sell sides. Tani had this to say regarding joining GaP, "I've spent all of my career at private and public companies. I've been on both sides of the table, acquiring companies and being acquired. I'm now looking forward to using my skills and experience to help GaP clients through the entire process."
“Tani comes to GaP with a rare background of technical experience where regulatory constraints and data analytics, combined with implementation and interpersonal skills, are required to effect organizational change,” said Matt Gilbert, a GaP Founding Partner. “We have initially tasked her with a buy side engagement in a highly regulated industry where much of her experience is a key differentiator. Eventually, we expect Tani to contribute across the spectrum of our service offerings as she has proven to be intelligent, tenacious, and highly results driven. I envision Tani making a name for herself at GaP and becoming a fixture in our success.”
Prior to GaP, Ms. Quazi was Director of Environmental, Health and Safety for Genzyme, a global Biotechnology company in Cambridge, MA. She joined the organization during a time of significant transition, as numerous newly-acquired companies were being integrated. Over the course of three years, Tani grew her support team by 40%, integrated environmental and safety expertise into all areas of the business, and developed and implemented robust management systems vital to supporting the organization. These strategic initiatives resulted in an ~80% reduction of injuries, correlating to an annual cost savings of ~$10M and an environmental impact reduction of ~15% via waste reduction programs.
Ms. Quazi had an earlier leadership role with PDL Biopharma, a Biotechnology company in the San Francisco Bay Area. In less than two years, the company grew from 200 to over 1000 employees, both through diversification and acquisition. Tani was essential to the growth and integration process, ensuring the highest level of environmental and safety leadership and support.
Ms. Quazi began her career in Management Consulting, with a focus on business risk evaluation related to Environmental, Health and Safety management. She supported clients in the Biotechnology, Chemical, Entertainment, High Tech, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, and Semiconductor industries. Through risk assessment and process hazard analysis, she identified, developed, and implemented critical programs and procedures.
Ms. Quazi completed an M.A. in Management and Finance from Harvard University and a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Riverside. She and her husband stay very busy raising their three young children. Tani also enjoys volunteering at her children’s schools as well as for the local Harvard Alumni Club.
