Gilbert & Pardue Business Advisors (GaP) is pleased to announce that Tom Matura has joined the firm as Senior Financial Advisor. In this role, Tom will utilize his 25+ years of accounting experience to help GaP’s clients achieve their financial, growth, and exit strategy goals. Mr. Matura’s career has provided him numerous opportunities to guide business owners and their management teams in areas such as operational efficiencies, process improvements, strategic growth, accounting analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and more. He has spent his time helping clients focus on turning financial data into management tools in order to achieve growth goals. His specialties also include IPO readiness, SEC reporting, and transactional services in the energy services, communications, and manufacturing industries.
Tom’s recent experience includes serving as Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) for a water logistics company that was privately held and pursuing an S1 Registration. In this role, he managed the accounting details for five acquisitions and a complete overhaul of the accounting system, including a software conversion. Within the first two months of consulting/joining the company, Tom managed the company’s first successful third-party financial statement audit and a private S1 registration.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Matura served as corporate controller, principal accounting officer, and consultant for an AMEX-listed public company in the communications/broadband industry. He authored process documentation and managed a successful Sarbanes-Oxley 404 internal control implementation.
Tom holds a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Houston. He serves as an advisor on several boards. Tom enjoys family, traveling, fishing, and sharing time with friends on Lake Travis.
